Base rotary limit switch

Base rotary limit switch

The rotary limit switch is used to control the movement of industrial equipment. It operates as an auxiliary controller of an electrical motor through a power interface, such as a contactor or PLC. Its shaft is connected to the motor, and after a set number of revolutions the cams operate the switches, thus starting the predetermined movements.

Features

A worm gear and a helical tooth gear combined with one or more pairs of straight tooth gears are used for transmission of movement from the input shaft to the output shaft. Revolution ratios ranging from 1:15 to 1:1500 are achieved by combining different gears between the input shaft and the output shaft, which are connected to the cams operating the switches. Each cam can be set with great accuracy thanks to the adjusting screws. Overall dimensions are suitable for assembly in small spaces. The auxiliary switches have normally open contacts.

Options

Base switch can be equipped with a cam set consisting of max. 4 switches. It is available with direct control for operating directly on the motor. The limit switch can be fitted with a flange for direct coupling to the motor. Different labels and colours are also available.

Materials

Transmission and gear driving shaft are made of stainless steel to prevent oxidation and wear. Gears and driving bushings are made of self-lubricating technopolymer, suitably chosen to minimize wear and maintain accuracy of the couplings over time. Sintered bronze bushings are moulded into the limit switch base to optimize the shaft rotation and prevent rubbing with plastic material. Parts and components are wear resistant and protect the equipment against moisture and dust.
